I know we cannot be 20 again. Most of us gained and lost weight a lot, our skin has been dramatically stretched and then left empty and refilled again many times until it has lost much of its quality to shrink.
I am not among the "older" people here (I'm only 29), but I've lost recently some 25 pounds and now I see lines around my eyes that weren't there three months ago. Well, I never noticed them because my face was chubbier so I think that they were hidden somewhere in the fat.
There are a lot of elements that are part in skin damaging process: age, wind, sun, losing weight, past dieting history, surgeries and so on. People who lose much of weight when they are older, must have surgery to cut it off. You should remember Richard Hatch, the guy who won the million dollars on Survivor and also lost 140 pounds along the way. He had the surgery to remove the excess skin around his waist despite of fact he's young and athletic.
Even life-long thin people get sagging skin and wrinkles as they age. I believe we're fat because we never pay attention to physical exercise to keep our skin supple and toned, among other reasons. By consequence a balance diet to keep us in good shape is very important. But the general opinion is that exercise is the key of everything, starting to normal weight and ending with toned skin without wrinkles.
